Ken VanFleet

Ken is a 1987 graduate of North Rose-Wolcott High School, 1993 graduate of Cayuga Community College and 1995 graduate of SUNY Oswego where he received his BA (Honors) in Political Science with concentrations in American Government and Public Justice. Ken served in the United States Army Reserve from 1988-1996 as a Combat Engineer, Combat Engineer Instructor and finally in Civil Affairs. Ken is also a 2009 graduate of Cornell University's two-year LEAD NY Program (Class 12)

Ken worked for Franklin First Federal Bank, Wilkes-Barre, PA in their operations in north-eastern Pennsylvania for three years in the early 90s before moving back to NY to complete his education. After graduating college in 1995, he went to work for his family's business, VanFleet Orchards, until 1999. In 1999, Ken took a position at Electromark as a manager and stayed there until 2002 when he went to work for his current employer Marshall Farms.

Ken began working at Marshall's as the Materials Supervisor, before being promoted to Operations Manager and finally to his current position of Director of Compliance and Support Services. His responsibilities include managing the company's corporate security, material procurement, regulatory compliance, quality systems and environmental programs.

Ken is a NRA LE and NYDCJS certified Firearms Instructor, NYDCJS certified Security Instructor, sits on the DHS Lake Ontario Maritime Security Committee, FBI Agro Terrorism Working Group, Oswego Facility Security Officers Committee as well as holds memberships and participates in other industry groups. Ken is a member of the North Rose-Wolcott School Safety Committee, Wolcott Elks, the American Legion and Blessed Trinity Church.

In his free time, Ken enjoys spending time with family, serving as a leader for his son's Cub Scout den, running and shooting.

Sharon came to Wolcott from Parish NY where she graduated from Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School as Salutatorian in 1961. Sharon went on to receive her BA degree in Education, with a minor in Elementary Industrial Arts from SUNY Oswego in 1965.

Sharon began her career in Education in 1965 in the Carthage Central School District teaching 5th grade. In 1967 she was hired by the Wolcott Central School District which later became the North Rose-Wolcott Central School District. 2004 marked the retirement from her 39 year teaching career which centered on grades 5-8 mostly in a reading lab setting. She is a life member of NEA/NY; NYSUT; NEA; NYS Retired Teachers. Association, Inc. and currently serves her region as Treasurer of the Wayne County Retired Teachers. Association. Sharon was recently elected Vice President in charge of Membership at the 60th annual convention of the NYS Retired Teachers. Association, Inc.

Sharon has served as a dispatcher and a board member for the Wolcott Area Volunteer Ambulance Corps (WAVAC). For the past 6 years she has been the President of the Corporation.

Sharon is still active in her home town as a member and Trustee on the board of the Parish Town Historical Society. She is a founding board member of the Altmar Parish Williamstown Educational Foundation, Inc. and has been their treasurer since 2006. Since 1992 she has served as secretary to the Parish/APW Alumni Association.
